Stellar Kinematics from Hipparcos Proper Motions
From Hipparcos proper motions, we have analyzed the local kinematics of the Milky Way from the young O-B5 stars, classical Cepheids, and the late-type K-M giants. Comparing the derived results, the kinematical discrepancies between each subset of stars have been analyzed, and the possible reasons for the kinematical di erences have been discussed.
متن کاملLocal stellar kinematics from Hipparcos data
From the parallaxes and proper motions of a kinematically unbiased subsample of the Hipparcos catalogue we have redetermined as a function of colour the kinematics of main-sequence stars. Whereas the radial and vertical components of the mean heliocentric velocity of stars show no trend with colour, the component in the direction of galactic rotation nicely follows the asymmetric drift relation...
متن کاملStellar models and Hyades : the Hipparcos test
We compare theoretical stellar models for Main Sequence (MS) stars with the Hipparcos database for the Hyades cluster to give a warning against the uncritical use of available theoretical scenarios and to show how formal MS fittings can be fortuitous if not fictitious. Moreover, we find that none of the current theoretical scenarios appears able to account for an observed mismatch between theor...
متن کاملStellar interiors - physical principles, structure, and evolution
Bargaining with reading habit is no need. Reading is not kind of something sold that you can take or not. It is a thing that will change your life to life better. It is the thing that will give you many things around the world and this universe, in the real world and here after. As what will be given by this stellar interiors physical principles structure and evolution, how can you bargain with...
